Sidney getting comfortable with heavy front squats

WOD

A.  Four sets of 25 unbroken Kettlebell swings, rest exactly 1:00 between sets

B.  Burpee ladder
With a continuously running clock, do one burpee the first minute, two burpees the second minute, three burpees the third minute… continuing as long as you are able. Your workout is complete when you cannot complete the required number of reps within that minute.

Compare Part B to 12.24.11.

  1. WOD A: 4 x 53#, forearms burning.
    WOD B: 11 rounds + 9, burpees suck.

  2. WOD A: 3 @ 35# (Rx), 1 @ 45# (Rx +)
WOD B: Burpee ladder: 17 rounds + 17.5 have been beating myself up for the past hour about not getting the last 0.5
    :-(
Of note… on the round of 15 I did 16…so if I could carry that one forward….

stop beating urself up Ash! doesn’t matter now…you know you can get it (and then some) next time.

    • You were inspiring this AM, Ashley! Great work…I hope to be half as good at burpees as you some day!

    • Matt M.

Impressive. Just think, you did 108 burpees in 8 minutes if you count rounds 10-17.

      • Matt M.

How does that compare to your Open WOD?

        • Thanks y’all…This is why I love QCC!
@ Kim…I’m trying…I was just sooo close but you’re right, this was my first burpee ladder there will be another chance soon
@ Matt~ I love this way of looking at it. I was 101 for the Open WOD and technically since I did 16 instead of 15 in that round I got 109.. so not bad!

Can’t wait to see what Hannah gets this evening… 20 for sure!

  3. crappy morning, lack of energy due to horrible food choices at the Reds game last night.
    WOD A: 4 @ 35lb
    WOD B: 11 rounds + 11
Ashley killed it this morning, nice job.

  4. HEY! Someone Sign up for 4:30!!! wth.

  5. Tim Uecker

Sorry can’t make it today, but I “hope” to be able to make it up tomorrow. I use hope very loosely because burpees suck

Calling all golfers! My detachment is having a golf outing on May 19th up at Wright-Patterson AFB…Check out the website if you’re interested – https://sites.google.com/site/665golfouting/

It’s taking place on a course on base that is only played on by those with military IDs and their guests. So it will be a cool experience even if you aren’t great at golf.

  7. Kim did you know about this:

Hurry up and get super preggers so we can take pictures of your belly and badassery and submit!!

    • Kim Jones

hahahaha OMG…thank u Ashley…I guess you haven’t noticed I’m already super preggers…and as I mentioned earlier – pretty sure I’m growing the world’s biggest baby (aka badass CFer)!

  8. “Hurry up and get super preggers …”

    I laughed outloud.

      Squash v. H, 1-2L.
      A: 4 x 25 kbs @ 53#.
      B: burpee ladder 13 rounds + 10.
      Plus, I did Issac’s 7 HSPU’s for Will!

  11. WOD A) 4@35# (I think each round got faster – at like 50ish seconds a round). I did a mixture of snatch and swing for 25 reps.
WOD B) 16+14 – after doing these next to Hannah, I’ve learned i’m pretty inefficient. Hannah=AWESOME at burpees.

Also – did you all see the regional WODs for team and individuals? Partner deadlifts soon please?

    • Thanks Emily! you did awesome, this was a painful WOD. I would love to do some partner DLs too. I want to be partnered w/ someone tall to see how that would work….

  12. 1st WOD: 35# did 3 rounds of snatching & 1 round swings

2nd WOD: 19+.125(really tried to go but couldn’t move anymore)

thanks for the encouragement. Fun 6:30 group!
